Branson Machine & Tool can produce cast parts if there is a requirement for a large run of a product to help reduce the cost on parts. Casting is a manufacture process by which liquid material is poured into a mould. This material can be aluminum, steel, stainless steel or plastic. The reason you would us a molded part is to reduce the cost of an item as you are no longer making parts from a solid piece of material where you must machine every feature of the required part from a solid piece of material. With the molding process, we make custom fixtures to hold the castings that have been produced which reduces the machining process. Many of the parts features are in the cast which only leaves a small amount of custom machining to be completed to the items as required by the customer’s drawings.
